As promised, WiiWare has finally launched today. Wii owners can now head to the Wii Shop Channel and start downloading any of the six previously announced launch titles. With the launch of WiiWare, there won?t be any releases on the Virtual Console today, but the normal Wii-kly Update schedule will resume next week.

If this is the future of casual gaming, motion controls, and Wii, count me in. Boom Blox may not be the best Wii game, depending on your proclivities, but it's definitely the best use of the Wii yet. It's immensely accessible, wonderfully tactile, and stands as one of the best treatments of gaming in a 3D space.

We've already seen some rudimentary Wii homebrew channel support, but this latest video released by homebrew developer Bushing steps things up considerably, with it turning what was once a curiosity into something that quite a few non-homebrew dabbling folks will likely be eager to get their hands on.

Ah the Wiimote. An elegant weapon, not as clumsy or as random like a blaster. Paired with the Nunchuk, it's pretty awesome too, according to this video from G4, which got an exclusive hands-on with Star Wars: The Force Unleashed for the Wii's duel mode.

Reports from around the Internet as well as here on the forums indicate that EarthBound has been given an E-rating for the Wii at this time. Details are still coming in, but on the surface, this means one of two things: either EB is due for an imminent release on the VC, or the big N is tantalizing us yet again (like they did with Shining Force II)

Nobody really expected Wii Fit to be a flop, and obviously the rampant success in Japan should've tipped us off, but it looks like the little exercise-centric peripheral is really doing alright for itself over in Europe. Dixons.co.uk says it sold a Wii Fit every four seconds on Friday, and Amazon.co.uk says they sold out within 24 hours. No word on

For a game that rides on artistic chops as much as Okami, this is a pretty bad F-up. Several of you mentioned that there is an IGN watermark on the box art picture. More or less, the background under the wolf was formed by a hi-res shot lifted from IGN's site.

Nintendo Wii's Virtual Console games have been fully dumped, decrypted, and extracted. We found there are ROMS in the virtual console games and they are even playable in emulators (ex: Snes9x). Most of all, the documentation for a virtual console game that is viewable on the Nintendo Wii is just a bunch of HTML files! SCREENSHOTS INCLUDED.
